Inspiring Lessons Of Faith

From A Pastor's Family Behind The Berlin Wall

After Nazi Germany was defeated, and the Third Reich lay in ruins and ashes, after Communism had collapsed, and the Berlin Wall came down, Michael and his family looked back over the broken pieces of man-made kingdoms and realized: what had remained and outlasted all of it was their small church, the faith of their family and their hope in Jesus Christ. A foundation that could not be shattered nor destroyed.

Michael's parents pastored a small East German church. It had a few wooden chairs, a wooden altar, a small organ, some Bibles and hymn books. Yet, in this little church, he found the faith to follow Christ under a Communist regime, a faith that outlasted those who opposed it.

Michael will share about the work of his parents as pastor and Sunday school teacher behind the Berlin Wall: the humble means they had, the pressure and resistance they faced, the challenges to reach the youth and their families, the indoctrination in the socialist education system, the confrontations with the STASI Secret Police, the oppression against the Church, the joys and struggles, hopes and challenges in living for Christ and proclaiming the Gospel in a world opposed to our Christian faith. He will share about God's faithfulness that sustained them, and allowed his family, and this little church to triumph.

Taking a fresh look at faith and freedom in America from an unique perspective, Michael will share Biblical principles how to build strong and lasting faith in our modern societies and to impact lives.

"If the small East German Church, coming together, praying, and believing, became influential in bringing down the Berlin Wall, ending the Cold War, and changing world history, - how much more can we impact our community, society and nation in times of freedom if we make real with our faith, take a stand for Christ and stay obedient to the commission that God has given us?!"
