   Music Ministry

Ruth and Billy Graham called his music beautiful, the LeaSea National Television Broadcasting Network called it mesmerizing.

When Michael's fingers artistically cascade over the piano few may believe that Michael started creating his own piano compositions only a few years ago, when he first visited the USA to share his testimony with the American people.

Now his distinctive music has become a firm part of his ministry. From powerful to reflective, from rich classic sounds to gentle, reflective melodies, Michael's praise to God through his music has moved and touched many hearts.

About The Album

At the age of eight I started to take piano lessons at an East German Music School for classical piano. But I never played a piece the way it was supposed to be played; I always brought in my own style, my own feelings and emotions. To the despair of my music school teacher, every classical music was soon a new piece of music of my own. But it was not before a few years ago that I realized I should play music by inspiration. Suddenly it seemed like a gift from God himself, that I was able to create new music inspired by my own emotions and experiences. And each song seemed to tell a story. Within a year I created about twenty new compositions; but not a single note was ever written down. The music seemed to live within my heart. On concerts, performances and recordings, I recall the inspirations from within, what makes each composition an original interpretation. Each time, the music is played fully from the heart, in complete dedication to God, the creator, to reach out to touch people and bring some reflection, healing, comfort, joy or inspiration.

Michael Furchert

   1.RESURRECTION SYMPHONY

I will not forget the day the Berlin Wall came down. After having grown up under hardships and difficulties, this undescribable moment marked the beginning of a new life to me, a life in freedom. I felt like I was born again to a new hope, a new future with new dreams ahead of me. In Remembrance of this day I had originally called this compositions "Summernight's Symphony". However, being reminded of the new life that Christ can grant us, I also like to play it as "Resurrection Symphony"

2.SEAGULLS PLAYING OVER THE HIGH WAVES

Though I was trained at a music school for classical piano, the first inspiration for my own compositions did not come to me before 1998. I was walking the shores of Lake Superior, Minnesota, USA, when the seagulls playing over the high waves caught my attention. I admired their freedom! They could so easily play over the waves, and when a higher wave came, they took off flying. They were free! This gave me the inspiration for my first own composition ever made, with the original title: "Seagulls playing over the high waves of Lake Superior on a stormy day"

   3.FIRST DAYS OF CREATION

Sometimes I wish, I could have been there, - when God created Heaven and Earth, just watching as a silent witness, seeing how He set everything in place; the vast deep blue sky and the endless universe, the stars, the sun and the moon, -watching how he created the magestic mountains, the valleys with their winding rivers, the green meadows and the birds in the sky... But in my heart I know, I am part of God's creation. Yet sometimes I wonder, how would it have been to be there, -watching the first days of Creation.

4.CASCADES OF GOD'S PASSION AND LOVE

This inspiration came to me almost over night, and soon became the favorite of many concerts. Inevitably it seems to remind us of God's Holy Spirit, His love and compassion surrounding us, like cascades rushing through a river. Whenever I play this inspirational com- position, I realize the reality of the presence of God

   5.REFLECTION IN SILENCE

There are moments in life where we enjoy true happiness. But there are different moments too, and we all know those times of life. Moments of loneliness, of sadness or even despair. Moments when we feel discouraged or downcast, where we believe God is far away and we are left alone in our worries, sorrows and daily struggles. But I found out that those moments of loneliness and silence can be precious moments, too. As we become silent, we may suddenly be able to hear the voice of God, gently calling us, telling us softly that He is still there, that He still cares, that He still loves us.

   6. SERENADA DE LA NOCHE

Midnight's Serenade / Mitternacht's Serenade

Did you ever walk arm in arm through a joyful, romantic night, looking into the dark midnight sky and giving praise to God in adoration? Somewhere out there in the endless universe must be a place of Heaven, where God knows our hearts and holds our lives through joy and pain in His caring hands. A Serenade of love, not only to those who we cherish in our lives, but also to God, our Father and creator.

7.EL VIENTO - BREATH OF AN AUTUMN WIND

also "Cherished Memories"

Long before God had given me the ability to play piano music through inspiration, a simple melody had come to me. It stayed with me over the years and formed into a little song. Once I started to get inspired to compose my own piano music, this melody soon formed into one of the earliest compositions. It reflects the beauty of fall, the bright and colorful leaves, like precious moments of life, carried away by the wind, but leaving "Cherished Memories." that stay with us.

   8.WINDS OVER YAD VASHEM

-[ in commemoration to the Holocaust Remembrance Day ]-

When I visited Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Place near Jerusalem, in Israel, I was overcome by shame and tears. Sculptures throughout the whole park reminded of the pain and agony Millions of Jewish people had to endure. Inscriptions carried the names of all the lives lost. In a building with a dark room, thousands of candles were burning and in the background a voice read the names of all the children whose lives were taken. Names which penetrated deep into my heart and soul, they were so many. And there was an extinguished flame of life behind each of those names. "Winds over Yad Vashem" is composed in dedication to the Jewish nation and in commemoration to the Holocaust Remembrance Day (April 13). It is a song that asks for forgiveness, that wants to reach out for healing and restoration. More than only an appeal for worldwide peace and reconciliation, this song wants to make sure, that the claims of the Holocaust will never be forgotten, and will never happen again.

   9.SPARROW'S FIRST SYMPHONY AT SUNRISE

Having this composition follow "Winds over Yad Vashem" shall not only emphasize the contrast between melancholy and joyfulness, it also symbolizes the rising of a new morning after a long, dark night, the beginning of a new day, with the rising sun penetrating the darkness and gently restoring life, renewing an atmosphere of light, warmth and joy. The old has gone, behold, God makes everything new.

10.LAST SONG OF A WITHERING ROSE

-[ in memory to a family member, whole left us much too early ]-

When we look in melancholy at the fading beauty of a withering rose, we are reminded that life is short. Often much too early we have to let go or part from loved ones. God gives life and God takes life and we shall be grateful for every day we can spend in the circle of our beloved family and friends. This inspirational composition shall comfort in moments of loss, but it shall also reveal a silent beauty in the middle of sadness and memories. We know that there is a final destination, an eternal hope, and with every life that silently fades away into the arms of his creator, a new life has already began.

   11.FUER LORENZ FRIEDEMANN

-[ dedicated to my nephew and god-son Lorenz Friedemann Düntzsch ]-

This composition almost seems to be the continuation of "Last Song of a Withering Rose" Shortly after the baptism of my nephew and god-son Lorenz Friedemann, his young grandmother lost the battle against a deadly desease and went home to be with the Lord. But a new life was born and it brought so much joy, warmth and happiness to us. His contagious smile, his curious looks, his joyful laughter and his first self-assured steps into this new world, were like sunbeams of God's comforting and healing love to us. As his god-father, my prayers will always go with him, that God may lead, guide and protect him on all his ways.

   12.PEACE OF GOD REMAINS

This last song is dedicated in gratefulness to all my music friends and listeners. It is the song which I play at the end of most concerts or performances. As people leave and go back home into different directions, different homes, sometimes even different states or countries, my wish and prayer goes with them, that we may all stay united under the peace of God. No matter where we are, what circumstances, life situations or challenges we may face, we shall always know that the "Peace of God remains".
