On November 9th 1989, Michael Furchert - an East German teenager at the time - saw the Berlin Wall come down. A day that changed world history and his own life for ever. Throughout Nazi Germany and Communism, three generations of his family had held true to their faith in God. This day meant the end of dictatorship and the beginning of a new life in freedom.
For Michael it was also the beginning of a ministry that would soon take him across the world. Today he shares with many what God had done in his life and the life of his family and brings an inspiring message of hope, faith and freedom.
Michael's story is a witness to God's love and faithfulness. It is an inspiring account of overcoming hardships, believing in the impossible, raising from trial to triumph and being "more than conquerors" when standing on God's promise. But it is also a challenge to many in our Western culture not to take our freedom for granted, not to let our faith grow superficial and light, not to give in to indifference and complacency. Michael's experience and insight are of continued interest in the US and allow him to share a variety of messages relevant to our life, faith, joys and struggles, individually, as churches and as a nation.
Michael has been touring the USA for several years speaking and performing in churches, youth groups, schools, camps, colleges, conferences and festivals. His testimony was published in Billy Graham's "Decision Magazine" and aired repeatedly on his "Decision Today" radio program. He has written for several national publications and as columnist for a Minneapolis based Magazine of Hope and Encouragement. He has been invited as guest on several radio and television programs such as LeaSee National Television Broadcasting Network in South Bend, IN, or Total Living Network in Chicago, IL.
Michael - whose father and grandfather had been preachers in Nazi Germany and the Communist East - desires to work closely with pastors and church leaders and serve the needs of their congregation. In part humorous and entertaining, in part moving and convicting, Michael shares his story and faith with passion and conviction. His approach is warm and non-confrontational while yet challenging people in their faith and commitment. His cultural and spiritual insight make him a welcome and unique guest speaker across denominations and his presentations a heart-touching and memorable event.
"Michael's testimonies and life stories present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a unique way, keep the audience on the edge of their seat and form a message of hope and faith that will touch hearts, change lives, build faith and commitment, challenge & inspire."
